Parents should definitely care about youth
sports nutrition because if you’re not paying attention to how well your athlete is fueled
when they get out on the field, they’re already starting out at a disadvantage. It’s really
no different than if you’re going to take a trip to California, you want to fill the
gas tank up before you go. You’re not going to start with an empty tank. You’re not going
to start with a fourth of a tank. You’re going to be smart about it and start with
your tank full. It’s the same thing. It’s the same type of thinking, that you want to
make sure that your athlete, when they hit the field or they hit the court, that they’re
ready to go. The other thing is that a lot of people are now paying attention to sports
nutrition. If your team or your athlete is getting out there on the field or the court
and they’re not well fueled and ready to play, and they’re playing against people who are,
again, they’re starting out at a disadvantage.
