Wild crime spree ends in suspect’s death


LEFT, LEADING POLICE ON A WILD CHASE O THAT ENDED IN HIS DEATH. A MAN COVERED IN BLOOD ON THE COUNTER AT THE U.S. BANK. POLICE SAY THE BLOOD ON HIS SWITCHER WAS FROM A SELF-INFLICTED INJURY FROM AN EARLIER DOMESTIC INCIDENT. A SHORT TIME LATER, 15 MILES AWAY, GREENDALE POLICE GOT A CALL.>>TWO ATTEMPTED CARJACKING THAT SOUTHRIDGE MALL. THE SUSPECT INVOLVED BEST THE DESCRIPTION OF SOME PREVIOUSLY REPORTED IN WAUKESHA. BEN: ALWAYS SAY AFTER THE ATTEMPTED CARJACKING, THE MAN ROBBED A GAS STATION.>>OFFICERS FROM OAK CREEK AND FRANKLIN BEGAN TO PURSUE THE VEHICLE, WHICH ENDED UP BACK IN GREENDALE, WHERE THE VEHICLE CRASH. BEN: ON THE RUN, THE SUSPECT SLAMMED INTO A CONCRETE SUPPORT POLE AND WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD. ONE MAN LIVES NEARBY.>>I HEARD A BOOM AND ANOTHER BANK, AND I WALKED OUTSIDE AND THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN SMOKE. BEN: NO ONE ELSE WAS INJURED DURING THE ATTEMPTED ROBBERIES.
