New – BSc (Hons) Integrated Nutrition & Dietetics

Hi I’m Sophie Tully
clinical nutrition scientist and health coach and now is a really exciting time
to be studying nutrition with several major studies being published over the
last few years showing a direct link between poor dietary choices and global
disease. Nutrition is the future of healthcare. Until now the nutrition
industry has been fragmented with each specialism taking a slightly different
approach. What this means is there’s no real consensus as to how to tackle
issues associated with global health. That’s all about to change!
Here at the UCO we’re creating a scientifically robust and highly
integrated nutrition and dietetics degree that brings together all branches
of the profession and equips graduates with the capabilities to make real
change to the health of individuals and populations. By combining traditional
Dietetics with nutrition science and applied nutrition disciplines our
graduates will have the skills to critically assess all nutritional
interventions available and choose the most safe and effective one for each
situation. Across the degree you’ll gain a deep understanding of biomedical and
nutrition science, advanced communication and behaviour change techniques and
applied research skills and use this to inform your development into an adaptive
and patient-centered practitioner. Your skills and knowledge will be integrated
through extensive clinical practice experience at our in-house purpose-built
nutrition and dietetics clinic and our community and hospital partnerships. Here
you’ll spend over a thousand hours in direct contact with a diverse range of
service users right from the very first term of
studies. Across your degree you’ll take increasing responsibility for service
users from all walks of life. Under the supervision of highly experienced
Nutrition and Dietetics professionals you’ll be guided and supported into
becoming an effective and confident nutrition practitioner. You’ll be joining
a passionate and forward-thinking academic institute right in the heart of
London and we’re constantly striving to deliver the very best in clinical
practice education. Upon graduation you’ll have the skills and capabilities
to help facilitate real change to the lives of your patients. Whether you
decide you want to work in the NHS, private health care, go into industry,
further study or even set up your own practice your degree in integrated
nutrition and dietetics will support you in achieving a dynamic and rewarding
career that’s right for you. Not only will you be able to help transform the
lives and health of your patients but you’ll also gain a deep understanding of
your own nutrition needs. To register your interest in studying integrated
